we are looking for sponsorship for young children from 6 years to 23 years old. We have the opportunity of a performance in Disneyland Paris. In 2014 we successfully found a company to sponsor us the full amount of £6,000, they offered to fund us this year as well but due to unforeseen circumstances, are now unable to fund us. we have 2 weeks to find funds or unfortunately we will have to cancel the life changing trip for the young people we cater for. . We have managed to keep the costs the same this year and are therefore in need of support for either the full or part amount in order to give this opportunity to the young people of South Ockendon and surrounding areas.
We will hold events to raise as much of the funds ourselves as we feel this trip provides an important part of the development and experiences the youngsters have, many of whom are from deprived and struggling backgrounds and would not normally have a chance to experience performing abroad. This trip could also be the first time some of these children have had a holiday of any sort which is incredibly important for their emotional and social development. This is a fantastic opportunity for all of the participants, and for the area.
We are a small street dance company from South Ockendon in Essex. We opened up in 2009 by South Ockendon Community Forum with just 4 pupils but have grown in size since.
We are a not- for- profit making group and all money that we have is invested back into the group for funding costumes, travel expenses we managed to support a recent performance at the Indigo O2 in London and Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End London.
Unfortunately due to the current economic crisis and lots of funding cut backs we lost our funding from the local forum for our class and we were faced with possible closure. However, I am passionate about the importance that this group gives to my pupils and was determined not to let the group close, I decided to carry the class on independently having to often finances trips myself. This has led to the group becoming, a fun, enjoyable and enthusiastic street class!
We run the class as a community/youth group with the youngest pupils we take on being 6 years old. The class is an hour and a half on Friday. 5:00pm - 6:30pm of nonstop fun, socialising and fitness with the outcome of an annual showcase and party. We pride ourselves on being a friendly, welcoming, loving class with a passion. A passion for entertainment and the fantastic art form that is dance.
Our classes consist of young people from all walks of life including teenagers with drug addictions, depression, physical abuse, sexual abuse to name but a few. We have some students with SEN’s and we work closely with the families to create a homely atmosphere at SOCF.
We are asking for monetary donations to support fantastic opportunity. All money raised will be used to fund the participants of the Disney trip in regards to their accommodation. In return we offer you the opportunity to have a small advert on our T-shirts and a space in our annual showcase program which is circulated to everyone visiting our performances as well as constant advertising on all social media that we have.
